Afraid of the women behind the black veil? A comment on the ECHR judgement regarding the Niqab
When the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) judgement on the claim of breach of human rights against a Muslim woman in France, affected by the government ban on the wearing of the Niqab, was released, I felt bewildered. Somehow the court managed to abrogate her claims of human rights violations and argued instead, that the rights of all others were infringed. Its reasons are even more strange. Deutsch Zusammenfassung:
In diesem Text diskutiere ich, im Nachruf der Debatte zur “mexikanischen Enthauptung” auf Facebook, wie durch die Verbreitung roher Gewalt und Mord Live, Gewaltverarbeitung und demokratische und sozial-politische Erziehung für heranwachsende Jugendliche weltweit immer wichtiger wird. Ich argumentiere für die Konfrontation mit der Gewalt, statt deren Ausblockung sobald Jugendliche dafür reif sind. Dies, so behaupte ich, ist, wegen der Macht des Internets genauso wichtig, wie Mathe oder Englisch.
